A Royal Mess

This will be a short post this evening. Gremlins are at work here, and I’m a little frustrated. I have spent some time this week working on a talk for Sacrament Meeting tomorrow.
After a full and enjoyable day of traveling and sightseeing, we ate a simple meal and each retreated to a private spot to work on our talks. SK had his done by 9, and I was done by 10:30. SK printed his (or tried to). The stubborn printer announced a cartridge needed replacing, and no amount of cajoling would convince it otherwise. At 11:30, we could do nothing about replacing it, and gave up trying.
SK already had printed up the document of 7 pages, and so decided that the changes he had made after that first printing were ones he could manually fix.
I returned to my computer, only to find that it was - in a word - dead. Screen black as midnight. Lights off. Nobody home.
In that little hunk of metal was my entire talk. We played with it for a half hour - with no luck.
I frankly don’t know what I will do. But I’m going to retire to bed now and like Scarlett, will think about it tomorrow - at least until 9:45 when I will be announced as the first speaker.
We traveled 2 hours this morning to get to Arundel Castle, where we joined the other seniors to tour through home, castle and gardens. It was quite spectacular. We walked to a nearby restaurant where we feasted on fish.
We drove a hair-raising hour through magnificent countryside on a one-lane road with a speed limit of 60 mph. We never knew who might be coming in the other direction around the next bend.
We passed the London temple and journeyed on for another 10 minutes to Hever Castle, home - and burial place of Ann Boleyn. The grounds were gorgeous.
We put 5 miles on our feet that included winding narrow castle steps and sloping walkways to castles. We put about 350 miles on the car.
I am going to post a few pictures now from my phone, and if I am able with my lame computer, will post more tomorrow.
