A New Day, A New Perspective

Failure isn't permanent. And as Erin quoted, "“Every day may not be good but there is good in every day.” - And there was much good in yesterday.

There was much good in today as well. We arose early so that we could get on the road and be at the temple by 9:30. We picked up Emma, our lone YA Rep now, and almost our lone YA from her flat and then headed south through some extravagantly beautiful country.

We arrived in good time. The GPS said it would take an hour and a half to get there, but SK, ever mindful of that time nearly 2 years ago, when we took three hours, is just nervous enough to insist that we give ourselves 2 1/2 hours to get there. So we had time to wait, and we wandered around those beautiful temple grounds.

Someone said, Let's do a selfie! We determined that Emma is the best at that....and you can see that she is. But who is that old lady photo-bombing the picture in the background? The sun was very bright and I took off my glasses which are very dark in the sun....hence the severe squinting.

We went inside right on time, sat with 7 other individuals each within their own little bubble of space and had a lovely session.

After leaving the temple, we went to a local Indian restaurant, where we had some pretty great Indian food. Neither SK nor I know enough to even know what to order, but all three of us were happy with our selections, and left completely full.

Both Emma and I fell asleep on the way home, and poor SK drove back in silence, fighting the weariness that had overcome the other two of us. He didn't tell me until we got home how very tired he was. Upon arriving home he took a short nap but is now looking forward to a good solid night's sleep.

We attended our stake's Zoom Institute (the last one we will ever attend) and enjoyed a wrap up of women in the scriptures. It has been a very interesting course. And the man who teaches it puts some excellent Power Point presentations together.

I started chicken cooking in the crockpot for lunch and dinner tomorrow. We will have 8 young missionaries here tomorrow - for District Council and lunch, and then tomorrow evening, Sid - one of our very favorite young adults is coming for dinner with her boyfriend. He is from Spain. with just a slight accent. He is warm and witty and knowledgeable - we would expect nothing less from someone who is courting Sid.

That pretty much maxes out my day.  I am trying to keep it simple, but somehow, when I say that, I am always always always underestimating everything.

But I am looking forward to it. It will be a great day.
