Touching Bases With France, Ghana, Germany, Wyoming and Denmark

Lia had a brilliant idea. She said, "Why don't you post your PowerPoint right here on the blog?" Then at least someone could see it and be edified! So, I'll give it a try. If it opens up for you, go to slide show, then start from beginning. When you advance the slide to #3, the video will start automatically.  The same is true for the last one, number 12 I think...here goes: (By the way, in the Bible video, notice that the Savior's thoughts are for the widow. Without a husband, and now without a son, she is literally out on the streets, since a woman could not be a property owner. She would be dependent on others for the rest of her life.)

It has been a lovely day, but I have been in front of my computer for most of it. SK and I took a little walk around 8 p.m. this evening, which was gorgeous. We were rained on - sprinkled on briefly, just enough to get that wonderful fragrance of rain.

I had Pathway Institute Inservice which was very nice. Couples from all over Europe assembled on the call to be instructed and to ask help for different issues. Our sweet Frenchman conducted with help from our very kind German supervisor. They all seem very nice and very competent. It doesn't bother me, because they are also very accepting, and were once new at all this too.

I spent an hour with a nineteen year old who is preparing to serve a mission. He is from Ghana. I went over some of the homework that he didn't quite understand. He was so cheerful, so kind and courteous and his expressions of faith are so powerful, that I just wanted to hug him.

I watched Sarah's baptism. She is here in England, and she attends the Pathway class. I know she has been working with missionaries and good members of her ward probably for years, but she said that taking the Institute class is what convinced her. The combination of powerful reading material each week, and the incredible comments shared by the other members of the class are very faith-promoting. I would like to say that my amazing PowerPoint contributed, but come on....we all know that didn't happen.

But it is a teaching experience I have never had before. Everyone who is attending wants to be there and wants to contribute. Maybe my PowerPoint would have interfered with that. Nevertheless, I am working on one for next week already!

I spent an hour on the phone with my sister in Wyoming...it was so good to visit with her. And I spent an hour on the phone with a woman from Denmark who is about my age. Every month or so, she calls just to visit and I enjoy catching up with her.

I'll close with pictures from SK on this evening's walk.

We thought this must be a bachelor party.

I told SK that we must get a door knocker like this when we get home!

Outside of the Story Museum, this old phone booth has been repurposed with quaint little scenes of stories we have known.

On the left, our backyard castle, on the right The Courtyard by Marriott, and if you turn right and walk 50 steps, you'll be in our apartment complex.

Sunset from our window.

Look at this fun little door! If I had turned around and walked in, I would have had to duck!
