Stand By For Technical Difficulties
Elder Harrison, a wonderful half of a wonderful senior couple serving in Manchester spent an hour with SK and me this morning showing us some finer details of Zoom. He is the host of his, mine and another couple's Zoom account. So only he can make some changes, and I am only too happy to let him do some of the more technical aspects.
I was still feeling a trifle traumatized about Tuesday night's glitch with PowerPoint, and spent two hours trying to resolve the issue. I am pretty sure that it has something to do with and errant Drop Box, and in my searching resolved another issue the last time I gave the art talk.
I tried to send the PowerPoint to SK's computer, but was politely told by my computer that something was preventing that from happening. This explanation was including with an apology. I never did get that figured out. At 6;50 I went in to relax thinking I had a half hour til time to sign on. A pesky little voice inside my head kept saying, "Look at that last email." - which I did, and managed to sign in right on time to a small Relief Society Group somewhere southeast of here.
I am grateful to say that except for a slow internet, it seemed to work well, and I finished on time.
We went shopping in four stores today to get all the supplies for Cafe Rio Sweet Pork Salad tomorrow. We couldn't find a pork shoulder roast, nor cans of black beans. I found a pork roast at a specialty meat market, which was a great find. I want to go back and see what else they have. The produce looked beautiful. It was a very small shop.
We found the black beans at an upscale grocery store, and paid a little more than we normally would, but decided that it was worth the extra not to have to go to another store.
The rest of the day and evening (when not fiddling with PowerPoint) was spent getting the food ready. I've made a couple of pans of brownies, the lime-cilantro dressing, gotten the crockpot on, and gathered everything to pack up to take to the church tomorrow. I will press our young sister missionaries into service making the pico de gallo and setting the tables.
We will have to get up early to get over to the church - I want to clean the kitchen before preparing any food, and thus have a bag full of cleaning cloths and cleaners.
Now if all three crockpots work well, and if all the food comes together looking and tasting good....tomorrow evening as I write, I will be one relieved old lady!
See you then!
