Rain Rain Rain

We had rain today. It was beautiful, but didn't last long.  The forecast predicts a high chance of rain for the next eight days.  Call me perverse, but that just sounds beautiful. We will see if it actually comes to pass.

We attended church in person.  Angie spoke and did a beautiful job telling of her experience in the temple, and giving her thoughts about recommends.  She thinks so deeply and shared with us some wonderful ideas about "being recommended to the Lord."  She has enriched our lives so much with her beautiful testimony.

We came home and watched Sunday School, and then the meeting with the missionaries and the people they are teaching.

One of our young adult reps asked about meeting in the church for Family Home Evening. The request was granted by the Bishop and it doesn't go against current COVID regulations so we will all be together tomorrow night - whatever that means.

So many right now are locked in practically a life and death struggle to finish up term that they hardly dare go out for a walk. We will see how many actually make their way to the church - which is a couple miles from the city center.

I told her I would make a simple meal, but I am unsure how many to expect.  I think I will make enough for fifteen, and if there are more, we'll make it stretch.  It is unlikely that we will have ten, but we will see.

Tuesday, I will spend the bulk of the day working on the lesson....or at least some of the day.

Wednesday, the senior couple from Cambridge will be here to have a grand tour of Oxford.  We are unsure of what exactly we ought to show them.  It is such a beautiful and historic city, but then they are coming from another city which claims the same distinctions.  I think whatever we see together will be fun....even in the rain.

Friday, we will be having our district council, and the Reverend Teal will meet with us.  Ten young missionaries, SK and me.  That will be so fun!  However, I will furnish a meal, which raises a lot of questions right now.  The church kitchen is so inadequate, and with COVID still a threat, I don't want to do anything that makes him uncomfortable, so I may order in.  I'll mull it over.  In the meantime, if you have any thoughts, let me know!

Saturday, we will join the other senior missionaries again, this time for the Isle of Wight...immediately south of Oxford - about an hour and a half to two hours away.  That will be great fun.....even in the rain.
