Day of Faith
It has been a marvelous Sabbath Day. We have attended the full lineup of zoom meetings as usual, plus some. Brad Wilcox gave a fireside for "The Rising Generation" in the England London Mission geographical area. Dave hadn't realized there was a conflict until this morning and the mission desperately put out the word that the Why I Believe had been moved from 6 pm to 8 pm. I hope we got the word to everyone.
The Brad Wilcox fireside was fantastic. The Why I Believe fireside was also excellent. Perhaps now, I understand in a miniscule way way movies cost so much and take so long to make. I took a very long time writing up the transitions from one talk to another, and choosing locations. When it came right down to it, the locations really got short shrift, and my script was kind of altered.
It was windy and so cold, not to mention wet. We were outside the entire time, and the sisters, although great sports about everything were so cold their teeth were chattering and all four of the missionaries hands were bright red with the chill. I had plotted a course through the Botanic Gardens, which would have been spectacular, but by the time we had been out three hours I am not sure anyone fancied walking a half mile (which would have been a half mile farther from our flat), so we abandoned that. It probably would have been the most beautiful set.

As it turned out, those young missionaries all did their very best, and it was great. But I would have loved to have seen a few more panoramic shots of the city. Oh Well. The testimonies were awesome, and I am certain that the young people in England loved it. I loved it. And by tomorrow, no one will remember anything about our part in it. I hope they will remember the feelings of faith that were strengthened.
Two things I am looking forward to: The repairman will come tomorrow, and (we hope) repair the dishwasher. We've been without it for a week now (when things like that break, for us - it is usually over a holiday weekend). And the second one is that I have less than two weeks to my haircut! Whoo Hoo!
