A Very Good Good Friday

This is Good Friday.  It has been a lovely day.  Cleaning was uppermost in my mind as we started out our day, and I am grateful to say that I got everything done I had hoped to get done....except walk.  We haven't walked in a week!  And I feel it.  These zone conferences and other YA activities kept our days pretty full.

Are you tired of hearing about Lamb of God yet? I hope not, because I have one more post - this one that will talk about it, unless I hear anything more about it and what people thought.  We watched it with the seniors last Friday evening, we watched with the zone conferences on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and then we watched it again tonight with all of the newest members of the church in the mission, and all of the people the missionaries are teaching right now.

Both SK and I were nervous for some reason about introducing it.  We divided up the script so that each of us had about the same amount of talking, but we kind of chatted back and forth the way you would serve in tennis and the other returns it.  I think it worked well, and the feedback from the young missionaries was good.

We'll know more when we speak to Dave and Deb about it, which will be Sunday, when we go to London to have Easter dinner with them.  I'm certain that not only Sunday, but in the coming weeks they will have more to say.  Starting next week, Dave will be doing interviews, one zone at a time.  Our zone is this coming week, and while everyone else is in a training session, the missionaries will spend about 15 minutes each in an interview with Dave or Deb.

We went to the church with our young missionaries and each retired to a separate room again, where we had access to a computer screen to watch.  SK and I gave our introduction and then the film was started.  I heard SK catch his breath a couple of times as though he was suppressing a little sob.  That music moves us both.  We watched it from beginning to end, hanging on every note and word.

We don't know for sure how many were watching, since more than one could have been watching the same screen, but I believe there were nearly 200 computers or phones tuned in. Among them were Angie (who wrote a text immediately after): "Amazing, beautiful, I cried like a little girl, so absolutely amazing.  Thank you so much for sharing this with me."  Reverend Teal was also in attendance.  I will be excited to see what he has to say.

Our young missionaries came out of their rooms when it was done, the sisters' eyes were red with crying, and the elders were subdued.  They loved it more the second time. The first thing the sisters said was, "If we could, we would go right back in there and watch it again!"

They were subdued until one of the elders told SK he had a surprise for him.  The elders especially love him.  They tease him all the time, but they truly enjoy him.

Please check back for the adorable video of SK receiving the medal from these young missionaries.  They love him.

Elder Reynoldson is saying that SK has earned the reward for "Being the best plum finder in England, Being the best at pronouncing Rod Grod Med Flod, and being the oldest missionary in ELM."
