Transfer Travels

When SK noticed that I had plugged the shaver into an outlet to charge, he said tremulously, "You just cut my hair!.....you don't need to cut it NOW!"  I tried to allay his fears by telling him that I am just getting the clippers in a state of readiness.

SK drove our Oxford Elders into London this morning, leaving at 9 and returning with one new elder who is taking the place of Elder Okuoko.  It's a good thing I didn't go, because there really wasn't room for me with all the luggage and two young men.  Sweet Elder Okuoko left us a letter that I will always treasure.

While SK was in London, he was given a new assignment: to deliver a package and a packet of papers to be filled out to a missionary who has completed her mission.  She will be going to her home in Ghana on Thursday.

After lunch, we walked to a post office about a mile away, putting 2 miles on our feet for the day...which was good since SK had already been in the car for over 3 hours and later in the day, we would spend four hours driving to deliver to the items for the sister missionary.

Oxford College of Government, nearby is the Oxford Publishing Company.

Isn't this a charming street?  We will walk along this street Saturday to get our vaccinations.
We see old picturesque walls like this all over Oxford.

It was a pleasant enough drive, because we were on the motorway (freeway) most of the time, and when we got off, we were driving through some lovely middle-class neighborhoods.  That made me happy, because I love knowing our sisters are in nice neighborhoods.

This is the lovely little neighborhood where the sisters live.

We began our reading program of the New Testament and Jesus the Christ today.  In our Tuesday night Zoom Mission call, three young missionaries talked about their experiences with reading the latter this time last year.  It was significant for them and all three said it was life-changing.  I hope the mission can finish the assignment.  I can't imagine that it wouldn't help them enormously.  Here is the schedule if you would like to join us!

I love all the pictures! It is just how I imagine Oxford looking. And I wonder how much it's changed in 200 years. Charming!

Oh, I hope we can see it in person!! And good thing you’re getting the shaver charging. I think he needs it cut all over, not just on the bottom. 😁
