Merry Christmas - and a Happy New Year!
What a Red-Letter Day!!!
We have a mail slot in our door (what a wonderful invention!) and on some mornings we hear the clink of metal in the entryway as mail is dropped through on to the floor.

| Here it is - Home Sweet Home #40 - and of course the slot for mail. |

| We troop up and down these stairs several times a day....8 stairs X 4 = 32 stairs! |
Today was such a day. But there were two cards put through the slot and a package on the floor outside. The notes informed us of two packages waiting for us at the local post office. That was an exciting way to start our day. We got dressed and walked over to pick them up. Was it a long walk? Think of walking from our house on Lexington to Erin's house.
It was about 34 degrees. That is pretty cold for two Arizonans, but I am still loving it. SK - not so much. We bundle up pretty well. We have this layering thing down.
We put up our tree but haven't had gifts under it, mostly because as I have wrapped gifts we have delivered them, and gifts to us have been opened as we have received them. We brought our packages home and put them under the tree. We sat and admired them for about two minutes and then we opened them.
They were delightful gifts....but our family spent about three times more just getting them here. We had a grand time unwrapping them. An Audible book in Danish for SK was a hit.....also a wonderful Gilbert Centennial t-shirt made him happy. Beautiful Scarves, A marvelous calendar of weekly quotes from the D&C, White Chicken Chili Seasoning mix, a "Grandma" necklace, and some really fun goodie bags, tags and bookmarks were perfect for me.
We loved all of it....and we loved opening everything. Christmas on December 29 was awesome.
At 6:30 we had a Zoom Zone Meeting with a member of the Mission Presidency to discuss how the young missionaries can help strengthen the young adults. They had some tremendous ideas.
At 8, I called my dear friend Carol, whose husband passed away ten months ago. She is moving forward with her life. She is wonderful, but this is so very difficult for her to wade through and I feel so sad for her. She and Gary had a beautiful life together with many shared interests. They also have terrific children who love their mother dearly and are doing everything in their power to make sure she is alright.
At 9 we had a mission Zoom Call. We are going to have a party!!!! The invitation says it all. I am looking forward to it. They have asked for missionaries to participate in a talent contest. SK thinks he might go ahead and submit a video of himself doing magic tricks. I wonder if he could be awarded a prize? As a mission, we'll be watching "Chariots of Fire."
