Getting Creative With Zoom

We started out this day at 1:15 in the morning.  Actually we didn't go to bed last night until 3 a.m.  I had a nice long visit with my sister yesterday and we talked about her grandson who was getting married today in a temple somewhere in Idaho or Utah.  Because of COVID and the dangers for so many of the elderly relatives, they decided to have a civil wedding yesterday the 10th and then go ahead to the temple today.  Judy was very grateful.  Her other children were as well.  Two of them are compromised and shouldn't be out hobnobbing with anyone, lest they pick up the virus.

We received an invitation on Facebook to attend the wedding via zoom.  So we did!

It is Seth, who is Jared's son, who is the son of my sister.  At 1:15, Seth's sister opened the Zoom call, showed us around the place where they were married, introduced us to the parents of the groom and parents of the bride, and then we all quieted down for the wedding.  It was lovely.  My favorite part was the dance afterward.  The bride danced with her father, and Seth danced with his mother Angela, who has serious heart/lung issues.  They both wore a mask.  Angela has long curled dark hair and is willowy and beautiful.  With the mask on, you would have thought he was dancing with someone his age.

We've done a lot of things by Zoom....but this is our first wedding.

Later in the day, we took a walk.  It was the first time I had walked in a week, and it felt good.  I am just praying that my back behaves well now.  I am trying to be careful. We passed by a tiny little chocolate shop and couldn't resist going in to give them a test run.  We purchased four small bars of different varieties and brought them home.  We tried two.  They were very good.

We also went to another chocolate shop, which we have been to before and purchased 10 small boxes of chocolate ($3 each....nothing fancy, which we will put a bow on and deliver to the young adults sometime in the next couple of weeks.

We came home and contacted several young adults to see how they are doing and if we can help with anything.  From what we can tell, we will have maybe ten who stay in town.  We are trying to think of something special we can do for them over the Christmas holidays.

Look at this!  It's Friday.  Christmas will come and be gone in no time.  I love this season.  I love the lights, the cozy feeling (hygge) and the cold.  There are good things ahead.  2021 just has to be a great year.
