Saturday In the Park

3.6 miles today!!!  I don't know what you think about it, but that is a great accomplishment for a sedentary couple of ages 71 and 77.  You would think it would be most remarkable for the 77-year-old, but he just keeps going.  No, it was most remarkable for me, since we haven't walked that far in a few months.  We will continue to walk as much as possible, we will continue to take our vitamins C and D, and we will continue to try to get a nightly good night's sleep.  It may not sound like much, but we feel that it is something we can do to help our immune systems.  Now, if we could just stop eating sugar!

There were young scholars everywhere clad in their black and white.  It was matriculation day....whatever that means in Oxford.  We hobnobbed with the best of them as we walked along the Thames River near Christ Church and College.  We passed by many rowing teams and their boat house.

Look!  SK is on the right - taking a picture of me!

We saw so many magnificent trees!

Nothing like a bag with the British flag to set you apart as a tourist.

Look at the path beyond SK....so beautiful

Students were everywhere and there were so many who had rented these boats that you pole, but of course I hesitated to take their pictures.

It's enough to make you want to join a rowing team!

We walked along High Street and got into streams of not only students, but tourists.  Who would think there was a pandemic going on?  We wore our masks and stayed as far away from everyone as we could.

I made a dessert for tomorrow.  We will have some young people here.  I so look forward to that.  We will go to church, then home to watch a Sunday School class, and then lunch.  In the evening, there are two broadcasts I want to watch.  One is from Sheri Dew and the other is Fiona and Terence Givens.  I hope to see both, but we'll see how the day unfolds tomorrow.

Dave announced that London has gone into greater lockdown as of today.  He didn't say just some areas.  He said the mission. We have read that Oxford is still at the lesser stage, but Dave didn't offer that to anyone in the mission so we will have to see what he says on the Monday night call.  It sounds like we may be headed for a "circuit-breaker" which would mean a very restrictive period of two weeks to slow the virus from spreading so very rapidly.  As far as I know that would mean no mixing of two households at all.  Only one trip out of the flat a day for exercise.  We'll see.

Oh, it looks so beautiful!!! I hope that even if you go on more of a lockdown that you’ll be able to go on walks. That exercise is so important.
