Rain Rain - and More Rain

We set out again to B and Q (a very good facsimile of Home Depot back in Arizona) to return the curtains we purchased last week, and to buy some more in a different length.  We got them for the young elders apartment which is about 50 miles from here and usually an hour and a half to two hours drive.

We needed to inspect their apartment anyway, but I wanted to hang the curtains that day.  The lady in the store said it would be easy....the iron on tape is included, so you measure, iron and hang.  Easy.  They were far too long, and we took them back.  We found ones that are almost perfect in length, but they didn't have them in stock, so I came home to order them online, and none of the stores seem to have them.

You have no idea how many times I've thought, "If only my dear friend Kate were here!"  Kate would know in a snap what color and how many and how long.  If you know me, you know I don't have curtains in my home. So I am a little lost here.  We are hoping this turns out well....for those elders who live there and for the budget and for me, who really doesn't know what I am doing.

Oh well....we came back in the rain (SK would prefer not to drive in the rain), sat by our flat window looking out at the rain (I love it), ate lunch to the sound of the rain, walked to several nearby shops in the rain, came home with all our bounty in the wind and the rain (our umbrella inverted!) and are now esconced in our flat for the evening.

I have spent time preparing for tomorrow - and I am still fussing about this dreaded flat inspection Monday sometime.  Wouldn't you know it is on a day that I will be preparing a meal?

Tomorrow we will attend out meetings and then head out to London where we will spend the afternoon and evening with Dave, Deb, Andrew, Mary Martha and their children.  Clyde and Charles will be baptized in the Hyde Park Chapel at 5 p.m.  That is where Andrew served his mission, and so he is thrilled to be back here to baptize his twins.

And we are thrilled to be a part of it.
