Zone Conference!

We dragged ourselves out of bed 3 hours before the crack of dawn to pack and get ourselves on the road to London.  The conference didn't start until 10, but we wanted to make sure we got here in time to get a parking spot, and to miss rush hour if possible.  And more importantly, I wanted to get here to get the laptop set up with my power point and attach it to the projector in the chapel.

We arrived by 8:30, and went up to Dave and Deb's until the chapel opened at 9.  My fears were justified though, because there was no way to connect my phone to the projector, and even if there were, the projector was having problems of its own.  By 9:50, the assistants were hard at work trying to figure out how to get it to work.

The meeting began at 10 without my knowing if we were going to make it work or not.  We got into the meeting 45 minutes when one of the APs came down from the stand with out laptop in his hands and asked if he had gotten the right power point presentation.  He emailed it to himself, and seemed to have it ready to use.

Dave began speaking and using the projector, and it kept dying!  Everyone trooped into the cultural hall and we continued the meeting with Dave's power point.

When I got up to give the talk about art, the APs had just barely got everything working.  And it all worked like a charm.

The conference lasted until 5:00, and the entire day was excellent, but I just don't know where Dave and Deb summon the energy, grace and attention for details from.  After Dave's last interview of the day at 8, we had a wonderful quiet little dinner here, and then walked to a gelato shop not far away.  It was quite possibly the best gelato I have ever had.  Incredible!  We walked home past some beautiful buildings still lit up with Christmas lights.  It seemed magical.

Its clear to see that I need a haircut!!!!

Dave will be up now until midnight answering emails.  Deb will be up doing physical preparations.

Stan and I are (mercifully) going to bed.

There is a reason we were just called to serve as missionaries.

Hi - You are SO organized. Stan looks about the same as he did 4-5 years ago - and you do too - so a good thing. Still able to prepare food for everyone - so can I assume that your feet are better?? Hope so.
Things are going ok with me - but will be better when I can "serve" again. Love & Prayers always, Judy
