Magic Erasers, Microfiber Cloths and Toilet Cleaning Kits

Ahhh, another fine morning on the road.  We left at 7:30, with no sign of a sunrise anywhere.  It was dark and still in the parking area.  The town seemed quiet even though it was relatively late according to academic standards.  As we neared the equivalent of a freeway, it was plain to see where everyone was!

However, we made the hour and a half trip in good form - until we ran into a major roundabout some 15 minutes out.  We went around it twice, and both times got off on the wrong exit!  Each time we shot off the roundabout like you jump off a spinning merry-go-round on an old playground.

And U-turns are almost impossible.  Taking the wrong exit can increase a trip by as little as 5 minutes (seldom that short a time) to as much as 30 or 40 minutes.  When there are as many as 5 exits, and 5 lanes going merrily around, the GPS is not a great deal of help.  Ideally, if you miss an exit, you can just keep going around until you get to the correct one.  But if you are in the outside lane, you exit at the next exit.  You have to know who is on each side of you at any moment, or you have a collision.

The apartments were both sisters' flats and they were both lovely.  Very clean, very orderly.  Each of the four young missionaries is a dear young women and very engaged in the work.  It was a pleasure to meet with them.

As a gift, we took them each a pair of rubber gloves, a pumice stone (hard water stains in the toilet), a microfiber cloth for windows and mirrors and a magic eraser.  We gave a brief explanation of each, and will actually demonstrate how they are used for some of the upcoming apartments.  But the sisters are doing just great and didn't need it.

I made a cake for tomorrow's missionary district meeting and to celebrate Elder Tshindabo's birthday.  He like chocolate, so I decided to make the old "Death by Chocolate" which is a breeze in America.  A cake mix, a pudding mix, sour cream, eggs, oil and water and voila!  A decadent chocolate cake.  We searched around and found these two items, not from America.  I gave them a try.  It smelled good while it baked, and it looks good now.  I'll let you know tomorrow night if it tasted OK.

I went to a doctor this afternoon.  I have been having all kinds of sinus headaches.  Must be the air pressure around here or something.  He examined me and gave me some antibiotics for my ears and drops for my eyes, and told me to continue with the Tylenol (British style). Another fine experience with a doctor here.  No scale!!!!!  No detailed health history.  In and out.

I like this place.
