A Red- Letter Day - Meaning This Was a Great Day!

What a glorious day!  We went to the church this morning to attend the baptisms of three delightful young people.  Our missionaries were so happy.  There was a wonderful turnout from the ward.  Several large families all came to welcome them into the ward.  There was a program, and then cookies afterward.

Of course afterward, SK and I were keeping an eye on his freshly-cleaned carpet, and there WERE crumbs all over the room.  But Elder Hill said he would vacuum, so we felt fine about leaving before it was completely clean.  (Is there an emoji for tongue in cheek?)

Also, my young friend from the middle east was there, and told me she would try to come over one more time before she left the country.  She said she would show me how to use the little projector.  She is such a sweet young woman.

Our zone leaders were there as well.  I was happy they came, because one of them, Elder Campini plays the piano, and he not only accompanied us all as we sang, and accompanied the group of missionaries who sang a special musical number, but he played for about 15 minutes while the 3 who were baptized dried off and got dressed.  His music is absolutely beautiful and come straight from his heart.

Today is the kind of day that helps us all see why we are here.  When we see these young people embrace the gospel with such joy, it makes all of the rejections worthwhile.  Well, SK and I don't get quite as many as the young ones, but we don't get out and try as often as they do either.

Otherwise, it has been a quiet day....plenty to do, but it is all done inside (while it rains beautifully outside).  SK is working on his talk for tomorrow.  I'll look forward to sitting quiet and relaxed in the congregation.
