Plotting a Course
It was nearly freezing when we awoke this morning. The low temperatures all week are hovering in the low 30's with highs in the 40's. I'm loving it. We went out today in search of several items for dinner on Monday. We went today because we will not be here tomorrow and Sunday, and I want to be prepared. We stopped in to possibly 7 or 8 places. We were efficient in getting from one point to another. It is so lovely to begin to get my bearings here. Our view out of our windows is due north.
Tomorrow morning, we will leave at 9 a.m. for Cambridge. It is the annual "Oxbridge Weekend." Every November, our YSAs go to Cambridge to hobnob with their YSAs for Saturday and Sunday's church before returning to Oxford. Then again in February, Oxford will host Cambridge. I am unsure of the overall vision of the activity....building bridges I guess.
We are packed and ready. We will drive, and we have been told that it is not an easy drive. It is about 116 miles, but the fastest route is southeast through the outskirts of London and then directly north to Cambridge. There are more direct routes but they are significantly slower. Any route we take will involve numerous roundabouts, so we might as well take the shortest! We hope to be there by noon, with an estimate travel time of 2 hours. We have found that we always ought to plan on more time that estimated.
It should be a pretty drive through some beautiful country. The Cambridge YSAs have activities and meals for the day starting at noon. There will be a breakfast and devotional Sunday morning and then church. Then we will drive home, and the YSAs will take the bus. Sadly, we are unable to take anyone with us. Mission rules worldwide. I guess it is a liability issue, since there have been unhappy incidents involving missionaries in cars, the best policy is just not ever take any non-missionary passengers in missionary cars.
I may not be able to write tomorrow evening, and so will say so long until Sunday night.

| Are you tired of seeing views from our windows? I love the bright light after a day of rain. Everything looks so clean. |

| On our walk this morning, we encountered this amazing tree. I don't know how old it is or who might have trained it in this fashion, but we stood in wonder at it. |
