Mother/Daughter/Granddaughter Time

For weeks, Lia, Eliza, Bekah and I have been enjoying some really great time together,  The week of August 19 stepped it up a bit.  Erin and her daughter Lauren, Melissa and I (and for an evening Lia) were together for a spectacular few days on campus at BYU for Education Week.  The classes I attended were truly wonderful, especially the ones I felt related to our English YSAs, or which helped to strengthen my knowledge and faith in the Savior.

But for sheer fun, those days with some of my favorite women in the world were priceless.  Melissa and Lauren were hilarious as they reported in about crepes, ice cream, brownies and all things delicious.  Erin shared some very spiritual insights she had received and sat beside me in many outstanding talks.  SK's sister Carolyn joined us for many classes, as well as our evenings in search of dinner at outlying restaurants.

One of the Restaurants was the one Kasper is managing.  We had some fantastic food there, and enjoyed seeing him again.  One of the absolute diet busters was the deep-fried funeral potato bites...oh my goodness, they were awesome!

Erin and Lauren shared a small dorm room which shared a bathroom with another small dorm room - Melissa's and mine!  We talked late into the night.  I'm sure our neighbors were not thrilled with us.  Melissa arrived first and put cute little notebooks and a BYU mint brownie on our pillows.  How can you not have a great experience when it starts out like that?

We sneaked away to the bookstore when we could, buying chocolate covered cinnamon bears and in my case, one book (authored by Julie B. Beck).  I couldn't resist the art section where many LDS artists sat with their art and selling prints.  I think that is where everyone of us spent time and some money.  Happily, I was only able to buy a small poster to be hung in our missionary apartment in Oxford.  Otherwise, I was sorely tempted to buy some of some very beautiful work.

I took a ton of pictures, unfortunately, they are of quotes on a screen and the backs of heads of anonymous Education Week attenders.  This little gem of Lia and Melissa happened after Education Week in the privacy of Lia's home.

It passed by too quickly, but the incredible memories will always be so very dear.
