Folderol
Variety is good for the soul. I have stayed indoors the entire day, but have been working on a few different items, all of which have been enjoyable.
I washed baseboards, scrubbed areas of carpet that have become dingy with age, packed one good-sized box with folderol to send home, Yes, looking at our suitcases, it is a bit worrisome.
I worked on the talk for the 15th in Sacrament meeting, and I worked on the Relief Society lesson for tomorrow - PowerPoint and all. I did 5 loads of laundry, and I should iron, but maybe not today. I contacted five young adults including Matt, just to say hello and to invite them to Family Home Evening tomorrow night (Sunday). Emma will be leaving town Monday, and will not return before we leave - so it is her last day here. hat is when we will be released to wander all over England for a few short days.
I began the preparations for chicken enchiladas and English Trifle for dinner tomorrow night. We think we will have perhaps 8...but just when I get relaxed, I find out that it will be more, so we will see. I will make some vegetarian enchiladas to be safe.
This computer's camera quit, which is more than worrisome. It won't let us sign in if it can't identify us. We have become complacent because it always looks at one of our smiling faces, and invites us in. We scrounged around and found a password that seems to work for the time being.
But then tonight, I signed into the Saturday evening Zoom meeting, and couldn't turn on the camera! President Thompson likes us all to have the camera on, but it couldn't be helped.
None of that (not being able to sign in without a password, not being seen on Zoom calls) is of particular importance, especially with us being less than three weeks from release, except that I am teaching Relief Society tomorrow morning on Zoom, and I kind of need to be seen! I could use SK's computer, but he doesn't have PowerPoint on his, and (having not learned anything from my Pathways class) I am still hanging the whole lesson around the PowerPoint Slides!
As a mission, we are watching The Chosen on Saturday evenings. Tonight was episode 3. If you haven't watched, it is quite good. They of course take a lot of liberties....the writings of the New Testament make it very difficult to film 45-minute segments without having to get creative about what the characters are saying and doing. But it is good. We both are enjoying i
