I'm Melting, I'm Melting!
It got up to 91 degrees today. The humidity went down to the fifties, but is beginning to climb again. It is currently 63%.
We went for a walk. We participated in a couple of missionary zoom meetings. I have done little in the way of housework, but have spent hours sending messages to Pathway course members and trying to transfer their credits from one place to another. I have been assured this problem will be solved by the start of the next semester. For now, I have a hard copy that I am marking up with four colored pencils, and I go from one page to another to another to another to see if everyone has dotted the i's and crossed the t''s of all the hoops they are to jump through in order to receive credit./
It is a truly wonderful program, but I can see why the requirements are there. Since it is college credit, they can't just hand it out like candy. If it is to be worth something in the real world, and if it is to be from a college that can be trusted, then they must do the requisite work. It is just a little difficult for me....as is everything right now. I am sweltering.
We have been in the apartment for most of the day, except for the almost 2 miles we walked. It has been so hot in this apartment. We have three different fans going, but they do little beyond blow the air around. My hands always feel sticky, no matter how many times I have washed them. My clothes are all sticking to me. The news says this heat will end tomorrow night around midnight with the onset of thunder storms and possible rain. I'll take anything over the heat!
It is now 72 degrees and I am going to go start a load of clothes in the washing machine. It will be done by midnight when it will be in the 60's I hope. I'll also start some chicken started so that I can make chicken salad wraps for the District Council lunch tomorrow. No baking or cooking tomorrow morning...we'll have cold lunches!
I'll need to wait at least until midnight for the heat to dissipate out of this flat.
The really disappointing news of the day is that three of our loved ones have all cancelled their trips to the UK. We do not know if Erin....the last one scheduled will be able to come. The news is so full of dire warnings that we hardly know what to think. At the same time, life appears to be going forward here as thought nothing is amiss.
Time will tell. For now, I just want to get through with this heat.
