Pathways

Tuesdays are different. Tuesdays are now the day to prepare -  in earnest for Pathway Institute. Each week is a little easier, a little less stress, a little less preparation, and a little less intimidating. What an inspired program this is! Each participant is on a pathway of education that will eventually lead them to a college degree and a better life.

The class this evening went by without a hitch - technically speaking. There was some excellent participation. I love the makeup of the class. We have a pre-mission 18-year-old, a 70-year-old convert of twenty-six years who is so grateful in all she says, a 40-something stake president from Europe, a woman from Spain living in Denmark, and a marvelous young returned missionary from Zimbabwe who must have been amazing in the mission field, and many others who come and add to the group.

Their testimonies of Jesus Christ and His power in their lives is inspiring. I'm certain that if I knew more of their life stories, I would be even more inspired.

We took a walk today. We have done that less and less with the intensity of our days lately. The meals we have been fixing (we have two ahead of us this week), the trips we have made for fun and for the mission, and lessons and talks we have prepared - we each have one on Friday about the Atonement, have all served to keep us actively engaged.

The walk was over familiar territory, except for the last little way. We discovered a narrow pathway that was too tempting. We walked along with old stone or brick on either side. It was maybe a couple of city blocks long with no breaks except for doorways. How delicious to walk down that path to your home! There were old-fashioned streetlights along the way. Here are the few pictures we snapped, but I think we will go back to get some more, especially of the doors and lamps.

Look at that old lamp post behind SK.  It is slightly tilted - which adds to the charm.

We had gone in search of a rooftop we saw from the street that looked suspiciously like a castle. We never found it, but the little lane was good enough for today.
