Baptism and Brad Wilcox

I guess I haven't been walking so much in the last month...since the great and wonderful Pathway Institute program. Three miles yesterday was something of a shock to my system and I slept long and well last night, but have been hobbling around all day on legs and feet that are complaining about the abuse.

This week, I will make it a priority to walk every day. I've got to get in shape before the family starts arriving and we tour with them!

We attended a baptism of a 60-year-old British woman. Her mother had been a member before she died a few years ago, and she began looking into the church awhile back.  The elders have been teaching her and she seemed so happy today. I was asked to give a brief talk on baptism, which I did.

Two of our cute former Oxford Elders came back for the baptism, Elder Watford and Elder Akuoku. It was so good to see them again.

We didn't remember to take a photo until everyone had left, including Rowena!  So we eight missionaries lined up for a picture.  From L to R: Elder Reynoldson, Elder Watford, Elder Akuoku, us, Elder Bowen, Sister Bloxham, Sister Jones

For the Saturday evening mission devotional, Brad Wilcox spoke. He spoke for an hour and then took questions from the missionaries for a half hour beyond that. It was outstanding, and fun to watch the missionaries faces as he spoke. He is a very spiritual speaker, but he is also funny, and when he threw in a comment that was humorous or outlandish, we watched them and watched Dave and Deb for reactions. That is something you don't have the luxury of doing when you are sitting in a congregation.

I guess there are some benefits to Zoom.

Tomorrow it will be Church in Person!
