Good News - Bad News

SK and I were getting ready for bed last night, and he decided just to check his email.  He sat there reading, and then exclaimed, then read the email out loud with some amount of incredulity.

Your application under Tier 5 Religious Worker of the Immigration Rules has been successful.

There followed a lengthy letter describing what that means.  Yes, SK has been granted an extension of his visa until September 13!  It also set out some rules and guidelines that he must follow.  We simply could not quite comprehend that it was very quietly granted....just like that.
We immediately said a prayer of gratitude.

The bad news is of course, that I did not get a similar letter.  We waited all day.  I must have checked my email a hundred times, and no letter.  We've laughed a few times wondering what would happen if they granted SK's stay of execution and not mine.  I suppose we could appeal.

So we will not break out the bubbly apple juice yet.

SK has to take action within ten days to insure that all is in order.  We are hopeful that mine will come soon.

In the meantime, I made chocolate cakes and we took them to the four young missionaries and walked two miles to deliver a cake and some other food supplies to a young student here from a foreign country who is studying so hard that he seldom will walk the mile or two to a grocery store for supplies.

We attended our online Institute class - taught by one of our YAs - Harry.  He is handsome, brilliant, an incredible teacher, 6 months home from a mission to Russia, and I think a magnet for girls.  He seems to be interested in another one of our YAs....a beautiful young woman from London.  We'll see if that makes it.

So - even considering that wonderful wonderful wonderful news that came last night - after praying for over a year (we started praying when we realized that it would expire before we were done serving), we will still be waiting.

I just hope that it is not more than a day or two.
