Scents and Sensibility

Another day of being indoors all day.  We can hear life going on above, below and beside us in apartments, and occasionally we hear people talking outside in the parking lot.  But other than each other, we have seen no one and talked face to face with no one.

The only online interaction was with our mission on the Saturday evening Zoom Call. It was a dynamic talk by Elder David A. Bednar which he gave to the new mission presidents 2 1/2 years ago.  It was about the character of Christ.  It impressed Dave so very much that he obtained a copy and has shown snippets of it from time to time.  This evening we watched the entire half hour talk.  I loved it.

And speaking of new mission presidents, Dave and Deb introduced the new mission president and his wife who will start serving here on the first of July of this year.  They founded the company called Scentsy.  I have purchased a few of their products, but it was been years ago.  I liked the product (little ceramic pots with light bulbs in them, and when turned on are just warm enough to melt a little blob of scented wax, thereby filling the air with fragrance). I am frankly surprised the company is still around, but apparently it is still doing hundreds of millions of dollars in business yearly.

This morning Dave called and asked us to work on a mission-wide reading course for the months February through June.  I love doing things like that and began working immediately.  SK has to think about it for awhile before he gets comfortable with the idea.  We tossed it around for awhile and then we disagreed and then we ended the discussion.  His immediate response was "We don't have enough time," (time is one thing we do have but Dave asked if we could have this done by Tuesday) and "It seems like a lot of effort for something like that."

I've learned that if he has time to think about it and get comfortable with it, he will generally get on board.

In the meantime, I'll plug away until he does.

That’s really fun he was able to introduce the new mission president and his wife!
