An Ideal Day.....Kind of
We had about an hour and a half after we got up this morning to clean up, get dressed, do some tidying up and settling in on the couch for our Zoom Zone Conference - our second of this week. It lasted nearly 7 hours. We had a little while in the middle of the day for lunch.
Twenty minutes after that meeting ended, we met with Harry and Kristina - our Young Adult Reps to plan for the coming weeks. With so many of the YAs gone for another possible 3 months, it is difficult to map out too many things. That was a relatively short meeting, which is good, because I had a meeting at 7 with the Oxford 1st Ward Relief Society. It was a book-club kind of meeting. I enjoyed the hour I had with them, as we discussed change. It was a great subject for the first of the year.
We set up a schedule for the rest of the year. We will meet once a month for an hour and a half, and we will discuss books, music, poetry and movies. I am looking forward to that.
At 8 p.m. we met with all of the 10 missionaries in our zone, the stake YM and YW presidents, a counselor in the mission presidency and a high counselor. We have an incredible stake president who listened to all of the young missionaries set out their goals in working with the youth and young adults of the stake.. I must admit they were wonderful in how they presented their ideas.
The stake president listened thoughtfully, asked for input from the Young Men's President, Young Women's President and the High Counselor. He summed everything up and spoke about his feelings concerning what had been discussed, and said he whole-heartedly endorsed what the young missionaries would like to accomplish.
Sitting on the couch all day is relatively easy, but not necessarily my idea of an ideal day.
Tomorrow we will take a nice long walk!
