Getting Older

I could not get out of bed today.....I just felt so wasted.  No fever, no sore throat, no cough, just fatigue.  I slept most of the morning and then decided I had better do something, so I got up.  I had to give myself a pep talk....and remind myself how very grateful I am to be back here working with all the young people we have come to love.  I think I am feeling my age.

I got out our 4 Halloween pillows, our one little lantern and our small garland of autumn leaves.  Good Grief, has it really been a year since I had these out?

In the afternoon SK walked to two stores to get some things for dinner tonight.  We had three young women over.  We ate together - all the while social distancing, and then watched and participated in Family Home Evening over Zoom.  It is crazy how much is being done on Zoom these days!  And the young people are so adept with all of the apps and how to make them work.

We have a brief message (which I gave) and then we all used our phones to go to a site where we played some great games.  It is basically Trivial Pursuit 2020 style.  We each signed in to the match, the question was displayed on our television and then we answered on our phones.  The app timed who answered first, second, third and so on and kept a detailed score for each of us.  It was fun!...even though I came in last every time.

I loved the time with the young women.  They are each lovely and intelligent and going places!  It is a joy to talk with them.

Well, gotta get in bed.  Tomorrow is what the Brits call "flu jab" time for SK and me.  We are getting flu shots and the instructions advise a good night's sleep two nights in a row before the shot.  I definitely got that last night!

Flu jab?! Sounds like a blast. Ha! That game really does sound like fun, though!
