Busy, Blessed and Beat!

Our day started with a baptism!  Enrik has been coming to church for a few weeks now, and meeting with the missionaries.  He looked so happy today.  He seems like a great young man.  I am unsure if he will begin to come to our YSA activities.  He hasn't yet, but I think he would enjoy. it.

Enrik is on the left and our YSA Seth is on the right.  Seth baptized and confirmed Enrik.

We had a one-hour meeting, combining both the Oxford 1st and 2nd Wards for the special Christmas sacrament meeting.  It was a lot of music and some scripture reading....wonderful scriptures that we hear every Christmas, but I never tire of them.

We stood around in the chapel and the foyer for a half hour enjoying everyone and visiting with as many as we could.  We were missing so many of our YSAs, but our numbers were compensated by the many visitors we had.  It really was wonderful and brought the spirit of the season.

We got home and began rummaging through cupboards, freezer and refrigerator.  One of the YSAs asked if we could have an informal potluck lunch.  I said sure.  He said that there would be three of them.  I had just made a large pot of cauliflower soup and it was good, and I had rolls in the freezer, and a head of cabbage.  So I thought that would be fine.

We had nine show up!  I had a large bag of meatballs in the freezer from IKEA, so I baked those, and I baked a LOT of rolls that I had in the freezer.  You can always fill up on bread.  The soup sold out fast!  And the meatballs got eaten, and then I had six little sausage rolls that are apparently a staple here.  I had gotten them to try out with SK, but they went in the oven too!...and the six that each got one were pleased.  Finally, I had a big bowl of apples, oranges and clementines.

There was enough food, but that is always a bit of a stress.  I decided a long time ago that I would always keep cheese and tortillas on hand so that I can always resort to them if necessary.  I didn't need to so it all turned out well.

We had a lovely visit with Matthew, Bethany and David, and got some recordings of music they have been working on.  What a treat!

Tomorrow, we will fix a meal and host Family Home Evening, then Tuesday we will be in London from early until late late late.  Christmas day we have invited all who want to join us to come and stay as long as they wish.  We'll serve lunch and dinner.  So I need to have everything I will use for meals that day by tomorrow evening.  We will also inspect two missionary apartments.

It all is good.  We feel so blessed to be here.
